[Alexander McQueen, Erdem]
Over the past few months, I’ve been getting more interested in runway fashion. I’ve loved personal style and have followed style bloggers for a while now, but never cared too much about what designers were sending down the catwalk. It seemed so removed from what I could wear and the shows seemed geared more toward celebrities and industry insiders than every day people.
But the last couple of seasons have been different. I feel like with snapchat and instagram designer shows are becoming more accessible and it’s easier to see the transition from runway to street style. My favorite bloggers to follow for fashion month are Chiara, Aimee, and Kristina – they go to all the big shows, have the best street style (5 outfits a day!) and always have fun with it. They feel like a bridge between the fashion industry and the general style-interested public.
My favorite overall shows have been Gucci, Rodarte, Prada, Marchesa, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana – all things dramatic, layered, and ornately detailed. I’ve also put together all my favorite looks on Pinterest, if you’re interested.

Have you been following the shows this month or are they just a blip on the radar? What do you think about the increasing transparency of fashion week? Would love to hear.
